"the only logical future..."
Reblogged from hyggehaven
So thanks to the wonderful hyggehaven I made some newspaper pots for my seeds this year instead of using those expensive peat pots. The goal is for them to last until it’s time to put the seedlings in the ground, hope that happens. This is how I did mine….
- Fold newspaper in half width-wise (I used tabloid-sized paper, but if it’s a full-sized paper halve each sheet).
- Fold again length-wise.
- You’ll need a tall straight-sided glass for this, or something similar. Begin rolling the paper around the glass, leaving an inch or so of paper extended beyond the rim.
- Fold the extended paper around the glass rim.
- Remove paper from glass.
- Push the glass inside the cylinder to flatten the bottom.
- You are done.
If you wanted you could probably use a little tape to close the loose end of the paper at the top, but I plan on jamming a bunch of pots in this plastic container so hopefully that will hold them shut until it’s time to plant.
Yours are way prettier than mine! :D
as an example for the last post:
this is a standard capsicum, pepper, whatever country you come from may have a different name, it does not matter what you call them…
in my state / country, in season, they sell for between $9.99 to $12.99 kg
inside this little gem are approximately 250 seeds, the plant itself grows to roughly 40 cm high and about the same in width, the average plant will produce between 7 and 10 fruit, they don’t require much water and can grow in a variety of soil types
I will leave you to do the math my friends… just one question!
What are you waiting for?
